[Pathogenetic and salutogenetic factors--personality development and addiction career].

The problem of pathogenetics and salutogenetics factors for addiction are examined. Drug use is classified in each case as a specific expression of personal problem processing and psychosocial conflicts. The differential approach to therapy from this model is discussed and a case is made out for a stronger integration of pathogenetic and salutogenetic personality organisation in the diagnosis and therapy of addiction.
