Abstract
A method for precise radium needle implantation in the therapy of tumors of the tongue and floor of the mouth is described. The device is fabricated as a two-piece acrylic splint that may be applied easily either under local or general anesthesia. It provides the radiation therapist with parallel positioning of the needles and an optimum distribution pattern. Fabrication and clinical application of the device are presented.
