[Use in cats of the "small external fixator for hand and forearm" of the Study Group for Osteosynthesis Inquiries].

Results and experience of 38 applications of the small AO/ASIF external fixator in cats are reported. Problems, limits with this fixation system and possible further indications are discussed. In this study the external fixator proved to be a helpful supplement of stabilisation methods for treatment of fractures and luxations in cats. The external fixator was well tolerated by the cats in this study.
