[Comparative examination of intermediate molecular weight compound values in both ultrafiltrate and blood of patients with chronic renal failure].

The study aimed at comparing various techniques enabling relatively rapid assay of intermediate molecular weight compounds in blood. A content of intermediate molecular weight compounds concentrations in blood ultrafiltrate obtained with routinely performed hemodialysis, in dialysate fluid after clearance of blood serum, in supernatant of deproteinized blood serum, and dialysate after clearance of deproteinized serum supernatant were compared. No correlation between the content of intermediate molecular weight compounds in dialysate after clearance of blood serum and deproteinized serum supernatant was noted. Further studies, including separation of these compounds with HPLC did not show similarities in the course of particular curves at 254 nm.
