The successive steps of nerve-electroplaque transmission have been analysed by methods which provided, in various experimental conditions, quantitative data on the physical and physiological parameters of the tissue. When a Torpedo is forced to discharge in air, an abnormally high amount of electrical energy is dissipated passively back through the tissue.
