Abstract

Impedance epigastrography was used to measure gastric emptying rates on two occasions in each of three foals. After smoothing of the raw data, emptying of water appeared to obey an exponential model. The mean emptying rate constant (SEM) was 0.171 +/- 0.038 min-1 (mean emptying half time 4.9 +/- 1.0 min).
