The Capital Regional District is the governing body for Victoria and surrounding municipalities. It has been responsible for community health, including home nursing, since 1974. In our publicly funded and operated home nursing care program, registered nurses assess clients and families and provide the services required to promote client health and independence. The nurses' skills are comprehensive: they serve clients of all ages who need acute care; chronic care for an exacerbating short-term episode; intermediate or long term care; or palliative care.
