Based on our experiences with the optical mark page reader-formular we can say that, although this method can be used in clinical routine, it is very difficult to prepare it in such a way that the interesting data are really collected. In our example a great number of data had to be put in retrospectively based on the clinical notes, so that additional work resulted. In our opinion it is impossible to ovoid the addition of data by hand even with careful planning. A progressive adaptation of computer forms to clinical needs might be a possibility to replace classical clinical notes by computer forms. This method, however, is applicable for the analysis of well defined and statistically interesting data, when the scientific questions are clearly defined. Anti-D-prophylaxis is described as a sample using computer forms. At the same time, our results with the Anti-D-prophylaxis are reviewed.
