[The investigational strategy and present status of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy for liver metastasis for colorectal cancer].

The present investigational goal of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer is to re-evaluate the impact of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy on survival by a comparative study combined with systemic chemotherapy. As an approach to this goal, technical standardization, development of an effective regimen without pumps and an improved system of cooperative study are being carried out. However, there are many problems to be solved in order to perform a randomized trial.
