Abstract
ED on-call programs can be a feasible staffing option, provided they are designed, implemented, and modified with responsive flexibility to meet both the institution's and staff's unique needs. Surveying similar health care facilities in a local area can guide the implementation and aid in perception of what type of on-call system would be most accepted in the area.
