The indications for and technique of transcatheter renal embolization are demonstrated in the light of a case of inoperable hypernephroma. The embolization was performed with autologous muscle tissue and involved no serious complications. The efficiency of the technique is evidenced by the resultant reduction in hematuria. An interesting aspect is the possible formation of a tumor abscess one month after the embolization.
