ET nurses frequently share ideas and products that suddenly make our job and patient care much easier. But little has been discussed in the Journal of ET Nursing to shed light on the speed, accuracy, efficiency, improved communication, and long-term cost-effectiveness that computer technology can bring to our chosen specialty. This article identifies use of computer technology in practice, education, and research. Such applications will bring about a change in present practice methods. Everett Roger's change theory can assist in the change process. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art health care for individuals with wounds, ostomies, and incontinence. Computer technology can assist in that mission by increasing productivity and effectiveness of the ET nurse.
