Drug-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome) is a rare, potentially lethal disease that is characterized by the sudden necrosis of the epidermis and frequently associated with mucous and systemic involvement. Even though the etiology of the disease is probably multifactorial (including viral infections and anomalies of drug metabolism), its iatrogenic origin is the principally recognized cause. We have drawn up a substantial list of the culprit drugs showing their frequency of involvement in the syndrome.
