[Intraepithelial carcinoma of the cervix uteri in young women (author's transl)].

78 cases of cervical carcinoma in situ in women aged thirty years or less treated at the 1st Universitäts-Frauenklinik in Vienna in the period 1960-1974 are being reported. This number represents 10,7% of all 729 cases of cervical carcinoma in situ in this period. It was surprising to notice a distinct increase in the incidence of this disease in the last years. The amount of young women with cervical carcinoma in situ went up to 15.8% in the period 1972-1974.
