Homeless families: program responses and public policies.

Numerous programs have been developed nationwide to address the needs of homeless families but many of their policies and practices raise serious questions about the adequacy of the nation's response. Significant problems in the current service delivery system are examined and recommendations are offered for a comprehensive program response that emphasizes service-enriched housing, specialized approaches to meet the needs of homeless mothers, and preventive interventions.
