Over a period of 2 years, 26 patients with chronic occlusions of the superior femoral and popliteal arteries were referred for recanalization. In two cases, the origin of the superior femoral artery could not be detected. A primary recanalization was achieved in 21 of 24 patients by the catheter system used by us (Viadyn). A stent (extensor) had to be implanted in one case because of a considerable lesion of the intima. A short-term clot lysis was indicated for another patient. On the basis of our results, rotation angioplasty with a slowly rotating catheter system seems to be the therapeutic method of choice for chronic arterial occlusions in the thigh.
在两年的时间里，26例股动脉上段和腘动脉慢性闭塞患者被转诊进行再通治疗。其中两例患者无法检测到股动脉上段的起始部位。使用我们的导管系统（Viadyn），24例患者中有21例实现了初次再通。由于内膜有相当严重的损伤，有一例患者不得不植入支架（伸肌）。另一例患者需要进行短期血栓溶解治疗。根据我们的结果，使用缓慢旋转导管系统的旋转血管成形术似乎是治疗大腿部慢性动脉闭塞的首选治疗方法。
