[The role of cytokines in normal and in leukemic hematopoiesis].

There have been astonishing advances in the field of cytokines in recent years. In the present paper we focus on a few hematopoietic cytokines and discuss some aspects of the biology and pathophysiology of cytokines and their receptors in normal and leukemic hematopoiesis. We also address future developments and in particular the role of negative stem cell regulators.
