Development of the ICN Code for Nurses (Ethical Concepts Applied to Nursing) was explored from the Finnish perspective. The article was mainly based on the archival sources of the Finnish Federation of Nurses and on the ICN publications. The 1953, 1965 and 1973 Codes were briefly discussed. It was observed that the Federation never explicitly integrated the Code for Nurses into its decision-making.
