To evaluate the effectiveness of surgical adjuvant chemotherapy, we attempted to determine whether cancer patients were taking oral anticancer agents properly. Tegafur or UFT was administrated orally to patients with gastric or colorectal cancers after surgery for at least a year. There were 19 gastric cancer patients and 18 colorectal cancer patients. Serum levels of Tegafur and 5-FU were measured every three months. Results of the study showed that all the patients took medicine regularly according to the prescription and serum 5-FU levels of most patients (75%) exceeded the minimal effective serum level.
为评估手术辅助化疗的效果，我们试图确定癌症患者是否正确服用口服抗癌药物。对胃癌或结直肠癌患者术后口服替加氟或优福定，疗程至少一年。其中胃癌患者19例，结直肠癌患者18例。每三个月检测一次替加氟和5-氟尿嘧啶的血清水平。研究结果显示，所有患者均按处方规律服药，大多数患者（75%）的血清5-氟尿嘧啶水平超过最低有效血清水平。
