Abstract
In experimental fractures in rabbits, a decrease in blood volume associated with anemia delays healing, but uncomplicated normovolemic anemia has no adverse effect. For the purpose of stimulating the repair process in normovolemic anemia individuals blood transfusions would be ineffectual.
