This study shows the contribution of the different imaging methods in the diagnosis of retroperitoneal ganglineuroma.
A retroperitoneal mass was incidentally detected in a young male patient. Patient evaluation included plain abdominal radiography, intravenous urography, ultrasound and computed tomography.
Ultrasound and computed tomography provide information on tumor characteristics and extent, although it has no diagnostic specifity and does not permit distinguishing ganglioneuroma from other neural crest tumors.
