Hepatic artery aneurysm is a rare finding, and its unsuspected rupture in the postoperative period can present a confusing clinical picture.
A patient underwent vaginal surgery for complete procidentia and on postoperative day 1 developed hemorrhagic shock. Emergency exploratory laparotomy revealed a ruptured left hepatic artery aneurysm.
Hepatic artery aneurysms are rare, and when they rupture, prompt diagnosis and therapy are essential to survival.
