"Clean slate in '88" was the rallying cry Texas physicians and a coalition of other business and professional groups used 8 years ago when they decided to take back the Texas Supreme Court. Frustrated by ongoing trial lawyer dominance of the court, the coalition led by the Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) launched an unprecedented grassroots campaign to put three new conservative justices on the nine-member court.
