The accuracy of bolus ascending phlebography in demonstrating the ilio-femoral segment.

The phlebograms of the ilio-femoral segment obtained by a bolus technique in 100 patients were reviewed. The technique of bolus phlebography from bipedal injections is described in detail. In 92% of the phlebograms the ilio-femoral segment was considered to be sufficiently well opacified to exclude thrombus. Follow-up of the patients confirmed the accuracy of the method.
