Abstract
A lethal insertion of an element P[ArB], which caused nondisjunction and structural abnormalities of chromosomes in the neuroblasts of homozygous larvae, was found. The insertion was mapped to region 57B1-12 of the polytene map of chromosome 2 of Drosophila. The expression of the corresponding gene was found in testes, ovaries, and neural ganglia.
