Worldwide, tuberculosis has reached epidemic proportions. An estimated one-third of the world's population is infected with the disease. It kills three million people each year, and more adults die from TB than from any other infectious disease. In April 1993, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global TB emergency. For many people, this crisis state is incomprehensible. Didn't we get rid of TB years ago?
