Abstract
The authors performed a prospective study of 86 patients with septic arthritis of the knee between 1990 e 1994. The age, sex, predisposing factors, time between onset of symptoms and treatment, etiologic organism and their route of entrance in the joint, previous use of antibiotic the data from of treatment, stay at the hospital and complications were evaluated and compared with the literature.

作者对1990年至1994年间86例膝关节化脓性关节炎患者进行了一项前瞻性研究。对患者的年龄、性别、诱发因素、症状出现至治疗的时间、致病微生物及其进入关节的途径、既往抗生素使用情况、治疗数据、住院时间及并发症进行了评估，并与文献进行了比较。
