Sinusitis is an infectious, inflammatory disease. Aggressive, multifaceted treatment is often required for control, with emphasis on anti-inflammatory therapy. Medical and surgical treatment is similar in children and adults, but more aggressive therapy, particularly surgery, is more controversial in the former.
