The incidence of patients infected by HIV is increasing in almost country of the world with a simultaneous increase of bacterial infections in these patients. The clinical presentation of bacterial infections is similar to that observed in immunocompetent patients yet more prolonged, recurrent and often more severe, as well as the infection may be by some unusual bacteria. Specific antibicrobial therapy is usually effective, but recurrences are frequent.
