Within the cat pallidal complex of nuclei, a limbic and a motor areas were distinguished corresponding to the ventral and caudal portions of the pallidum, resp. The revealed specifics of afferent organization can be regarded as a structural basis of the complex's functional heterogeneity. The rostral pallidum and the entopeduncular nucleus seem to carry out the processes of convergence and integration.
