The purpose of this report is to summarize the diagnostic studies that best establish the diagnosis of an occult stress fracture of the hip. In the era of managed care, it is important for the clinician to evaluate the diagnostic study, or studies, that will be most helpful in diagnosis while considering the overall cost to the patient.
