Sixty patients with carcinoma of the mouth in various stages of development were treated by cryosurgery. Its outstanding feature was conservation of bone which forms the oral cavity. Thirty-two of 60 patients survived for five years. The best results were obtained in patients with small to moderate sized carcinomas without cervical lymphadenopathy. Cryosurgery is especially suitable for the high surgical risk patient.
