Two cases of thrombosis of the mesencephalic artery are described : the location of the occlusion and of the infarcted area in the upper mesencephalon is correlated to the clinical syndrome, in particular to the existence or the absence of an oculomotor paralysis. In addition 27 normal brains are examined by means of the translucidation and the radiographic techniques after filling of the arterial system with a colloidal barium sulphate solution. This study supports the subdivision of the upper mesencephalon into five vascular territories and justifies the denomination of mesencephalic artery, which supplies a transitional region between the diencephalon and the brainstem.
中脑上部闭塞和梗死区域的位置与临床综合征相关，特别是与动眼神经麻痹的有无相关。此外，在用硫酸钡胶体溶液充盈动脉系统后，通过透照和放射学技术检查了27个正常大脑。这项研究支持将中脑上部分为五个血管区域，并证明了供应间脑和脑干之间过渡区域的中脑动脉这一命名的合理性。
