Arteriovenous malformations of the brain stem in childhood.

Two children are presented with arteriovenous malformations of the upper brain stem, emphasizing the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and surgical therapy. The lesions were located on the pia mater, facilitating total surgical removal. The importance of detailed angiography with subtraction technique is discussed.
