Epidemiology is a small but not unimportant field in medicine. It has a clear identity and special spirit. It is a science that has to avoid methodologic dogmatism. It is a science that is strongly dependent upon collaboration with medical practice and basic medical science. And it is a science that in the true spirit of Hippocrates tries to contribute to the conquering of diseases in patients and in populations.
流行病学在医学领域虽小却并非不重要。它有着明确的特性和独特的精神。它是一门必须避免方法论教条主义的科学。它是一门高度依赖与医学实践及基础医学科学协作的科学。并且它是一门本着希波克拉底的真正精神努力为战胜患者个体及人群中的疾病做出贡献的科学。
