Experience in epilepsy in Lusaka.

In one year experience in epilepsy in the Lusaka University Teaching Hospital, 120 patients were found to have combined clinical and electroencephalographic evidence of seizures. A higher incidence of family history was shown in the unlocalised or centrencephalic types and the cause of the epilepsy was undetermined in the majority. The problems encountered in the management of epilepsy are described and plans are discussed for the future approach to the problems.
