Charting is an essential part of midwifery care. Charts are the backbones of our practice. As midwives, we talk and interact with many clients all the time. One way we can keep track of what we say and do with our women is by recording this information in the chart. The chart is considered a permanent record for the future; it ensures quality and continuity of care. Most importantly, it is a legal record.
