Abstract
The influence of Co-60 therapy in laryngeal cancer on the hearing is presented. In group of 40 patients insignificant decrease of hearing threshold is shown. In majority of cases mixed hearing impairment is observed. The mechanism of hearing impairment is introduced. Changes in the nasopharynx, eustachian tube and in the inner ear as a result of radiation are analyzed. The necessity of audiological control during and after radiation is emphasized.
