[Animal experimental studies on the volume expanding effect of hydroxyethyl starch 40000 in the dog acute hemorrhagic shock].

After acute hemorrhagic shock in dogs the hemodynamics of hydroxyethyl starch (MW: 40,000) are studied. The experiment shows that this plasma expander has a good efficiency for 3 to 4 hours. The indications of application of this colloidal solution are discussed.
