Pharmacist involvement in a family physician residency training program is discussed. The pharmacist's duties include: (1) inpatient clinical responsibilities to the family medicine service for therapeutic decisions and drug information, (2) ongoing educational presentations to residents and faculty, (3) drug information and consultation to outpatient clinics, (4) participation in the development of standards of practice for resident training and (5) clinical education for medical students.
