[Removal of intraocular tumors and cysts by deep lamellar resection (author's transl)].

A series of 28 cases is presented in which a relatively simple surgical procedure of deep lamellar resection of adjacent cornea and sclera is used to remove malignant or possibly malignant growths of the iris root, ciliary body and interior choroid and epithelial cysts and downgrowths. The technique was developed from the early trabeculectomy operation and has been used during the past 16 years. It was used to remove 16 epithelial implantation cysts, 2 benign tumors of the chamber angle, 7 malignant melanomas of the iris root, 1 malignant melanoma of the choroid and ciliary body and 2 epithelial downgrowths.
