[The Lichtenstein technique--"minimally invasive surgical procedure". Experiences and results of 251 hernia repairs].

Technique and results of Lichtenstein's hernia repair are demonstrated in a collective of 432 patients. No recurrence was seen in the first 251 patients with a follow-up rate of 96% after a mean of 13.4 months. It seems that the Lichtenstein technique is a minimally invasive technique and shows many advantages over laparoscopic hernia repair.
