Telemedicine is becoming increasingly prevalent in health care services. This article provides a general description of telemedicine and a detailed description of its use in Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia). Use of computer modeling for prospective analyses of telemedicine issues is focused on. Finally, this article describes the potential use of model-based analyses to address the impact of telemedicine on key nursing-related topics.
