Perimetry is one of the most important optometric tests for the detection of pathology associated with the visual system. The fact that perimetry may be the only means of discovering certain serious abnormal conditions dictates its routine use on every patient. Suggested procedures for central and peripheral field charting as well as screening techniques are given for some selected commonly used instruments in perimetry.
