Abstract
A description of vitally unrecognized cryptococcal meningitis and tumour-like cryptococcosis of the adrenals is presented. Comparison of the results of various stainings for degeneratively changes and phagocytized fungi suggests that cryptococci in histological sections should be stained by Zihl-Nilsen's method (methylene blue and basic fuchsin).
