Abstract

Monthly radiography was performed to study distal radial physeal closure in ten male and ten female Thoroughbred horses. The height, thoracic circumference and metacarpus circumference were also measured. Distal radial physeal closure time was sooner in females than males, and took 701 +/- 37 and 748 +/- 55 days respectively.

对10匹雄性和10匹雌性纯种马进行每月一次的X线摄影，以研究桡骨远端骨骺闭合情况。同时还测量了身高、胸围和掌骨围。雌性桡骨远端骨骺闭合时间早于雄性，分别为701±37天和748±55天。
