[Use of Diacarb to attain hypotension in preoperative treatment of patients with different cataract etiology].

The authors assess the efficacy of preoperative decrease of intraocular pressure by diacarb in 130 patients (134 eyes) with senile and complicated cataracts and cataracts combined with primary open-angle glaucoma. Diacarb administered after the proposed protocols helps notably decrease the initial intraocular pressure, thus preventing intraoperative complications in the course of extracapsular cataract extraction with implantation of intraocular lenses.
