Abstract
Thrombotic complications of intravenous access represent an entire spectrum of disorders. This article addresses the incidence and occurrence of these complications. The symptoms of thrombotic disorders of the veins are presented along with their natural history. Treatment options are discussed, and the applications of preventative measures are covered, relevant to applications in i.v. nursing.
