[Excision of the ciliary-body in cases of secondary closed-angle glaucoma (author's transl)].

Six cases are reported, in which an excision of the ciliary-body has been performed: 5 cases with secondary closed-angle glaucoma, and one case with secondary open-angle glaucoma. All eyes were aphakic, and in all cases other surgical interventions preceded. The ciliary-body excision is the easiest exactly doseable procedure, compared with other procedures regarding the ciliary-body. Usually excision of the ciliary-body represents the last choice to offer, however in selected cases it might be the method of choice. In this aspect our results are encouraging. The technical details of this procedure are described.
