Digital radiography systems.

While a number of medical imaging technologies have had digital capabilities for many years, the most common imaging modality--radiography, or x-ray imaging--has continued to rely on film to record its images. Now, however, digital radiography is becoming more practical and more widely available. We present this article as an introduction to the technology and as a means to compare and contrast it with familiar film-based systems.
